VANESSA DA MATA
4th of July | DOURO & PORTO STAGE
Vanessa da Mata releases Esperança, the first single from her upcoming album The artist's first release of the year is a song that will be part of her new project Todas Elas, which will be released in the coming weeks “How many times did I have the impression / that the world didn't want me / how many times so many no's / I didn't know about love / traumas close perception” are the opening lines of Esperança”, a release by singer Vanessa da Mata that arrives this Friday, the 11th, on all digital platforms. The song is the first single from the artist's next album, “Todas Elas”, which will be released in the coming weeks. The song proposes a reflection on the expansion of love as a whole. It is an amplification of love, of existence itself, of the emergence of having pleasure in oneself with the whole. “How many times have I allowed myself to love, to be alive. To love the awareness of my presence. To heal and know myself so that I can embrace myself and not depend on the love of others, or on the marketing of external loves that bombard us all the time, as if we were not capable of giving ourselves balance, strength, dreams, self-preservation, the possibility of being part of the world, in a sunset. Simply loving any discovery, far beyond self-help. Existing, loving in a feedback loop of the whole for oneself. Being happy in feeling aware of one’s own existence, with the awareness that we are all one”, reflects the artist on the message of the song.
The singer adds that it is also a question of not delegating happiness to others. “We should not direct our healing, our own style of being and being, our abandonments, our rejections, our spiritual advice and our achievements or any opinion towards others. Will we never be able to nourish ourselves in the face of existential hardships, temporary pains, the harmful insistences of this world, the humiliating insistences that the other is gold and I am dependent on him on Instagram, the like that I was missing? We are all capable of healing ourselves. Of getting in touch with our most primitive being, our harsh worlds and abysses and remaking ourselves! I believe.”
The song Esperança is the first single from Vanessa da Mata's next album, “Todas Elas”, which will be released in the coming weeks. “The public can expect more poetry from this album. It’s my production, all the songs are mine, and it will feature wonderful partnerships, such as Robert Glasper, Jota.pê and João Gomes. Robert is American and considered the first jazz guy in the world, a name to keep an eye on. A beautiful participation by João Gomes in a song I wrote, a wonderful reggae with Jota.pê”, says the artist.
“Todas Elas” is also the name of Vanessa’s new tour. The artist's new show will feature new songs and classics from the musician's career. Directed by Jorge Farjalla, the first performance of the tour will be held on May 24, Saturday, at Qualistage, in Rio de Janeiro. Vanessa da Mata will also perform with the new show in Aracaju (06/06), Salvador (08/06) and São Paulo (19/07). In the next few days new dates for “Todas Elas” will be announced.
